White trash
The pictures that you see on this page are of a recycled scarecrow project. We were assigned to partners to work with and had to make a scarecrow out of only recycled materials. My group decided to create our scarecrow out of trash bins and cans. We began the project by making preliminary designs. We did not focus on good art techniques or structure for the preliminaries, our attention was to be one thundered percent aimed toward the theme and idea of the Project.
The next step was to find a way to obtain all of the necessary items and to find a way to get them to stay together. To achieve this step we assigned each person a set of materials to bring. Then we had a meeting over what we were going to do to keep these materials together and so that they would hold under all weather conditions since it was going to be displayed outside in a garden. We decided to use hot glue to hold The scarecrow together. We also decided upon using a metal rod with zip ties around the project so we could stake into the ground.
The third step was to construct our project. We began by gluing the cans individually to the bins. We continued this until there was not any part of the bin showing. Then we began to take the tabs off of the cans and glue them to the top bin in order to form a face for the scarecrow. The Final step of the project was to paint the cans We chose a white weather resistant paint. We covered the entire body with this paint, but when we got to the base of the scarecrow we ran into a problem. We ran out of white paint, so we were forced to improvise. Our group was limited on colors so we ended up using a nasty brown to cover the remainder of the project. Then Finally we glittered the base to help add to the disgusting brown.
